Louis Hechter

Born in Mexico, Louis Hechter lived in Texas for a few years before moving to Montreal. At the age of 17, he went to Paris where he learned and mastered the art of hairstyling. After returning to Montreal, Louis had but one wish: open his own salon. In 1990, Orbite was launched. The salon quickly made a name for itself as one of the most coveted beauty destinations in the country.
Since then, Louis Hechter and Orbite have racked up the prizes: At the 13th Annual Contessa Awards in Toronto, he and his team were recognized with seven big awards, including Canadian Master Stylist and Canadian Salon Team.
A flurry of artists entrusted their tresses to him, including Céline Dion, Shania Twain and Garou. The newspaper La Presse named him exceptional talent in the field.
His expert touch regularly graces the pages of Elle Québec and had lead to collaborations with some of the most talented photographers in the country, including Leda & St-Jaques and Carl Lessard. Here, his work takes on a decidedly artistic tone.
His reputation has also attained an international level. Large companies such as Goldwell, Kerastase Paris and L'Oréal Professionel.
Even with all this recognition, the work that he is most proud of is his salon. With his brilliant band of stylists and colorists, and a skilled administrative team, Louis Hechter has turned Orbite into an institution.
